A core value of the Unalayee summer camp program has been to include children from all economic circumstances. The Camp community is enriched and strengthened by diversity. Since the first camp session in 1949, Unalayee has been committed to its campership (camp scholarship) program. Camp U raises funds for the program and reserves camper places in each session for children on camperships. In addition, we maintain a substantial gear-lending store to eliminate the barrier of high-cost backpacking equipment. Camperships are available to low and middle income families on a sliding scale basis.
Camp Unalayee is proud to have a very generous community who supports our campership efforts.
To request a campership, please go to our Enrollment page and click on the button to register your camper in the program of your choice. Then complete the Financial Assistance section of the Camp Profile. We will then contact you about your Campership award. To be considered for financial aid we ask for:
- family size
- family income
- special circumstances
- how much can you afford
No proof of financial documentation requested when considering financial aid
Camperships are also available for our Family Programs. Details in the Family Camp registration forms.
Apply for your Campership as early as possible; as we get closer to summer the Campership fund is more limited.
Please contact the Camp office (650-969-6313 or office@gocampu.com) with any questions.
